(3) Census Bureau: Bush Left Us Worse Off In Every Economic Category
“A conservative is a man with two perfectly good legs who, however, has never learned how to walk forward.”
- FDR
The Census Bureau, which just released its annual report on Thursday, uses four measures to assess economic performance. Here is how the Bush Administration (and its economic policy of tax cuts for the wealthy) did on those measures during its two terms in office:
Median Household Income: Declined
Poverty: Increased
Childhood Poverty: Increased (faster than overall poverty)
Number of Americans without health insurance: Increased
Is anyone surprise? Just a side note: All of these measures improved (went in the opposite direction) during the Clinton Administration.
Now, despite losing the White House and seats in both the House and Senate, Republicans are advocating the same economic approach in their harsh criticism of President Obama and the the new Democratic leadership in congress. I know we elected President Bush twice after both his failed governorship of Texas and his failed stints in the business world, but enough is enough. When you fail four out of four tests you fail the class. When you take the class again…you probably shouldn’t write the exact same answers to the test questions. That is just silly, nutty, and buffoon-like.
I know they believe in creationism, but maybe they should evolve or something.
