For all the criticism Obama has been getting lately, evidence suggests his stimulus package has saved nearly 2 million jobs and spurred a substantial part of the economic growth we’ve experienced during the last 2 quarters.
Here’s a fun set of facts: right when Obama took over, the economy he inherited from George Bush contracted 6.4 percent in the first quarter of 2009. Then, once his policies started to go into action, the economy shrank by a much small 0.7 percent in the second quarter, grew by 2.2 percent in the third quarter, and is expected to have grown by about 4 percent in the final quarter.
Sounds like Obama is steering the ship in the right direction after all. Jobs, unfortunately, are usually the last thing to recover. Lets just hope they do before November 2010 — not just for those that are unemployed, but for tomorrow’s future.
